Leading the charge for fashion-forward men in the big and tall community is a premier group of fashion innovators, The So Classic Gents XL and National Curves Day Inc. The merging of these two organizations has crafted an Ingathering Weekend in Houston on March 11-13 sponsored by Johnny Bigg USA, DXL Big + Tall, MVP Collections, and Strongsize. Attendees can anticipate a unique, in-person experience led by Big & Tall Models and Influencers of the largest plus-size retailers for men: Savage X Fenty (Corey Thomas, Brandon Madden) DXL (Cameron Boyland), and Fashion NovaMen (Korren Kirven).
Founded in 2018, The So Classic Gents XL housed one of the largest collectives of plus-sized gentlemen in the North American region. Their mission continues to create and cultivate conversations of inclusion and body positivity through events and community programming. This is a movement that educates, enlightens, features, and promotes fashion, body positivity, healthy lifestyles, and grooming techniques for gentlemen across the United States; its primary demographic being the big & tall population.
“I am excited to share our rich experiences with more people who would not have otherwise been aware of our movement,” says President Devone Baldwin. Eventgoers will have a first look at Title Sponsor Johnny Bigg’s Spring collection.
“We are thrilled to be a part of the So Classic Gents XL event and have the opportunity to engage with customers together with showcasing and presenting our new Spring collection” as shared by Alex Lundin, Head of Marketing, Johnny Bigg.
Joining forces with National Curves Day, Inc is making this event larger than life! In 2016, National Curves Day became incorporated as a global non-profit (COED) social organization embodying inner peace, confidence, love for self, and others. Their foundation mission is built on, “Embrace. Encourage. Empower.” for the curvy and plus-size community. Since 2018, National Curves Day has been a national Proclamation Day to celebrate and elevate body positivity in plus-sized fashion for women and men.
“We are honored to be an event sponsor and support So Classic Gents and National Curves Day in building this community and developing a positive narrative for like-minded men who want to dress well and feel empowered in how they present to the world. We hope to continually give confidence and strength through improving our designs and expanding our assortment. We are a new standard in Big & Tall”. Richard Kirstein, Founder, The STRONGSIZE.
March 11-13 hosts plenty of opportunities to celebrate and elevate while educating. The weekend starts off with a welcoming meet and greet for our elite and general ticketholders, features a mass photo and video shoot for everyone, and ends on Sunday with rejuvenating inspiration.
